Norfolk

So I'm still working on my pictures from my Spain trip, instead ill post todays trip to North Norfolk.
Rach n I headed to Kelling heath firstly but once on site it was obvious from the management of the heath the Woodlarks and Dartford's weren't going to be there, infact we found nothing on the heath, it was deserted.
We moved onto Blakeney after a small detour to drop off a parcel, and it wasn't long before we were watching upto 20 Lapland Buntings. Many different ages and plumages.

They were very mobile so only got a few shots.
A Water Pipit landed on the fence briefly.

Just as we were about to leave 8 Twite dropped in, again all too briefly.

Nice day in Norfolk if only for a short time.

Cromer for fish n chips.

Purple Sand and Med gulls again

Collected my euros ready for my trip to Spain tomorrow and then nipped down to links road and the promenade for an unusual looking grebe on the sea.  On arriving in the carpark I was able to count 10 Med Gulls of various ages. Further on I found a winter plumaged Great Crested Grebe so unfortunately nothing special.
Took a couple of shots of this Kittiwake on my way down.

The Purple Sandpipers were flying up and down the beach with the Turnstones so I decided to take a few pictures, as always I pick the day its raining.

A Rock Pipit put in a brief appearance too.

On the way back a nice flock of Linnets and back at the carpark still a few Med Gulls about.

Hopefully a good blog to follow of my birding trip to Gibraltar and Southern Spain next week.

Egret day.

Had the day out again with Danny Digiscoper only local but locals really good at present.
First stop was Burgh St Peter where Kayne found a Cattle Egret and it was showing nicely by the looks of others pictures.
On arriving it did show nicely, pity the light wasn't great but nice all the same.

Also on site were 2 nice Stonechats and turning around to view the tip a Juv Glaucous Gull but too briefly although didn't look properly through the gulls, it was freezing.

Next we moved onto The blyth for the nasal collard Green Winged Teal again, we moved to a view point where the bird was a bit closer than the bridge. It showed nicely if not a bit distant. please read last weeks blog for the info on the Ring.

We finished up at Hen Reedbed for the long staying Great White Egret which was there but always in the reeds and didn't show only in flight.

Took a few pics of a showy Reed Bunting

Another great day out with Danny.
