North Norfolk

Yesterday was a day of Chores in the garden so i didn't get any birding done, and during the week on patch was quiet except for a fall/small movement in Goldcrest, a Mistle Thrush small groups of Redwing and Fieldfare.

Today however it was a trip to Titchwell with a couple of friends. Started near Repps and spotted 12 Common Cranes in flight but couldn't actually find them on the deck.

Made it too Titchwell although it was cold and dull but we made the most of any photo opportunity that came along. Avocets, Bar and Black tailed Godwits, Grey Plovers, Ringed Plovers, Teal and a nice Water Pipit.

On the Sea a few Common Scoters, 2 Red Breasted Merganser, Guillemots, Goldeneye and waders such as Sanderling.
Back at the carpark a cracking Woodcock was well hidden and a very good spot for someone.

In and around the carpark a few Bramblings including a flock of around 40 as we left the carpark on the main rd.
Finished the day over at Thornham where the Twite were showing but then never landed.
So took some shots of the local Pied Wagtail.

On the road home firstly a cracking Barn Owl and then finished with a ring tailed Hen Harrier at Wells.

February birds

I had the day off work Friday so popped over to Wrentham Church for the Hawfinch again hoping to get the place to myself, how wrong was I it was flooded with birders unfortunately so the birds wouldn't settle for long and so only managed a few record shots.

Managed the Escaped Black Kite and a Red Kite from the area too.

Saturday we had the morning over on the Marsh's at St Olaves hoping for Shorties and a Rough legged Buzzard, Couldn't find either after a good long walk around the mills. I did however see Male and Female Merlin, Sparrowhawks,Buzzards and loads of Kestrel. Quite a few Pinks on the marsh as well as plenty of Chinese Water Deer and Brown Hair.

Today a quick trip around Gt Yarmouth and Bure Park for another Glossy Ibis, not quite as nice as last weeks Minsmere bird but i did get to see this one a little closer, shame the sun didn't present itself.

In the same area a Great White Egret, but you couldn't get remotely close to this bird and so i had to scope this from Bure Park. Still nice all the same.

Lunch and a trip around Horsey didn't produce anything of real note.
Till next time. .......
