Seem to have forgotten to blog last weekend but Gulls are dominating again. All at Hollesley
14th Feb
After work Peregrine, Grey Wagtail, Kingfisher 30+ Whitefronts and a Tawny owl calling from its roost site which ive now found.
15th Feb
Water Pipit, 2 Adult Yellow Legged Gulls and 70 White-fronts. A Muntjack showed well. It was a very quiet day due to the weather
16th Feb
Much the same as yesterday expect 4 Lesser Redpoll now in the Garden
22nd Feb
The Firecrest by Shelbys Cafe sign was still about and showed pretty well although i still couldn't get a picture. Gulls now took over with a nice Adult Caspian Gull on the Scrape.
Returned after lunch to 2 possibly 3 Adult Caspian Gulls and 2 Yellow Legged Gulls, 1 adult and 1 first winter.
Below a pic of Adult yellow legged gull on left and adult Caspian on right.
1st winter Yellow Legged Gull below.
Couple more adult Caspian Gulls
Going away from the gulls, the 3 Adult Whoopers put in an appearance and this Greater White-fronted Goose x Bar headed Goose hybrid was on the scrape, odd looking thing.
Numbers of White-fronted Geese seemed slightly higher with 100+ Lots of Barnacle Geese too.
Finally i managed to follow a Barn Owl home late in the day.
23rd Feb
Lastly today a quick trip to the patch but not much new except a Summer Plumaged Adult Med Gull and a Summer Plum Black tailed Godwit.
Took a trip off the patch to visit Mistley, lots of nice birds but very windy so had lunch and took a few digiscoped shots of the local Black Swan.
