Patching and Minsmere

So i worked hard for very little on the patch this weekend. A Short sea-watch from COSW Arctic skua was a year tick as was the 2 Pintail mixed in with Wigeon, Teal, Common Scoters, Med gull, RT Diver and 4 possible Goldeneye but everything was very distant.
Whinchat still on fence of COSW Flushed a nice Hobby off the cliff probably waiting for the many House Martin that were feeding over the cliffs.
A Lesser Whitethroat in COSW compound. back on the sea were small numbers of Teal, Wigeon and Common Scoter south. 2 Guillemot on the sea.
Lastly good numbers of House Martin again and Goldfinch. Yellow wagtail over and another Hobby 2 Common Whitethroat in the compoud.

Had the day instead at Minsmere. ill not talk about the Citrine Wagtail that wasn't.
However a Bittern flew over as we were sat in East hide and a magnificent Juv Red Necked Phalarope dropped in as the rain arrived. Greenshank, Green Sandpipers and a Spotted Redshank were the pick of the other Waders.

Other highlights were 2 Drake Mandarin Ducks and a Beautiful Kingfisher.

Poor weekend really. Wont be long before Im on my annual pilgrimage to Majorca :-)
