July Update

Didnt realise just how long it had been since i had wrote up my latest blog. so its gonna be longer than normal, although ill still keep it short ne sweet.

July 9th Hollesley

3 Spoonbill again.

July 10th 

Started at Hollesley RSPB, Adult Yellow legged gull was on the shingle ridge. 2 Cuckoo still and a Spoonbill, 7 Black-tailed Godwit. 1 Green Sand turned up.
Then nipped upto Staverton Thicks 
Insects were the highlight of the afternoon, Pirate Spiders, Speckled Bush Crickets and a Lesser Marsh Grasshopper. Purple Hairstreak was a cracker. Plenty of Common Emerald. Red Deer with foals were a surprise.












July 15th 

Finally ticked Turtle Dove for the year in Boyton. I was just on a walk around the village with the dogs when i could hear it calling and then watched it fly out a dead tree.

July 17th 
Grass Snake Hollesley as well as a Spoonbill.





24th July

No birding for a week as its been so hot ive not wanted to go out again after work. Working outdoor all day means i just need shade when i get home. Today though it was nice cool and cloudy. Birds were on the move, 5 Green Sandpiper, 2 Wood Sandpiper a patch tick Adult Little Gull, 2 Greenshank, 1 Common Sandpiper and 4 Spoonbill.










Lets see what tomorrow brings.
