European Roller

So its great to still have water in the pools at Hollesley and im very confident a rare wader will turn up, in the meantime though the local Spoonbills are still feeding here, locally 9 breeding pairs which is awesome

Along side the Spoonbills was a cracking Summer plumage Golden Plover, it was clear it was a Goldie but i did wait for to see its under-wing just in case it was something a bit more special.

Yesterday a fall of waders with 5 Green Sands. A Drake Garganey also fast asleep. Hobby hunting distantly and a Greenshank flew down the River.

The weekend i had a trip out to see a Roller near Bury, the bird showed well and didn't disappoint.

On the River loads of Banded Demoiselle.
