Saturday on the patch was quiet and nothing really of note really. 1 Possible Yellow Browed Warbler called once but couldn't find in an hours search. High tide brought in 19 Grey Plover, 11 Dunlin, 1 Knot, 2 Ruff, 1 Greenshank, 1 Ringed Plover a Rock pipit over and finally 3 Chiffchaff.
So Sunday i had a walk from Dunwich to Minsmere, taking some pictures of the Shorelark that had been about for a while now. It showed very well. At Aldbrough i picked up a Fieldfare coming in off but it was so exhausted that it ditched in the sea about 100 yards from land, then eaten by a Great Black Backed Gull. Poor thing, the perils of migration.
Such a shame for the Fieldfare ! 😢
